Is Africa Powerful Enough?

Is Africa Powerful Enough?

It’s very, very unfortunate for Africa, that her Governments cannot form an alliance, from within, to swallow up the violence that the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony has wrought on Central Africa and especially the Ugandan State for the past 30 years.
I don’t care, at the moment, what the Object and Subject of the LRA is. For now all I seek is that the injuries meted on innocents be brought to an abrupt end, as quickly as possible!
That the African Union cannot resist, effectively, the menace of the Lord Resistance Army to the point that the U.S Military has been deployed to suppress this militia group, is regrettably disappointing.
My disappointment is not that the U.S has “intruded or intervened” (whatever is most appropriate to call it) in this matter, but that African Governments have failed to build, for themselves, a viable Security System with which to protect the continent, most importantly, from within.
The episode that Obama has sent a number of troops toUgandato check a feeble decades-long attempt by the U.S to suppress Joseph Kony and his group is generating numerous concern.
In as much as most of my comrades take humanitarian positions on this matter does not disadvantage me from thinking, also, along “Power lines”.
My position is that it had occurred before, when the combination of Power politics and Economic exploitation of Africa by Europeans led to the poor state of African Political and Economic development evident in the late 20th century and which effects even lingers, even today.
These will definitely worsens as our Governments abdicate their responsibilities to protect the lives and properties of her Peoples across the Continent, in order to pursue ephemeral substances that do not solidify the Power an Economy within the Continent.
The decisiveness of the “short” period of Colonialism and its negative impact on Africa emanates from the fact thatAfricalost the ultimate determinant in any Human Society, Power!
Power implies the ability to defend one’s will by any means available. And once a Society finds itself relinquish its Power for another to exercise it on its behalf for any reason is in itself underdevelopment!
African Governments should learn from History!
